Kirk Garrett (wife Joan Garrett)
Elder
Welcome!
From Kirk-
Been living in the Atlanta area since 1954. Born in the Windy City however. Living in Roswell, GA for 47 of our 48 years of married life. We raised two girls both grown and married.
I became a believer during my 28th year of living without Jesus. I/He decided that it was past time so that all got done in a super natural second. From darkness to light. Born Again, after which my wife Joan and I joined a Baptist church. We stayed there for about a year. Then we heard there was a man in town, Laverne Campbell, from California that was starting a Calvary Chapel. We looked into it, attended the first meeting in 1977, and haven’t look back since.
I’ve enjoyed serving on many different levels of opportunities at CCA. The list is long and cherished. I enjoy fishing with my son-in-laws. I currently drive a school bus for North Fulton county after retiring 35 yrs from my own construction business.
Come join us where the Word is preached at the highest level and the Holy Spirit resides in Its people.
From Joan-
I was born in Trion, GA and after a year moved to Tallahassee, AL. I am an only child, was a tom boy, loved all sports, was a swimmer and diver and grew up in the Methodist church. Was blessed to have an amazing Christian mother and dad. I became a health and physical education teacher and coach for 30 years. Coached swimming, fast pitch softball and gymnastics. Retired in 2009 and continued to substitute for 11 years.
The Lord blessed Kirk and I with two beautiful daughters and they are married to two wonderful Christian young men. They all know Jesus as their savior. I grew up knowing all about Jesus but never realized the relationship with him is what changes everything. That relationship happened in our second year of marriage and has been growing and maturing with the reading of the Word and being blessed to have a church that preaches the Word.
Kirk and I are original members of Calvary Chapel, when Laverne Campbell came to Atlanta in 1977 to start the Calvary Chapel movement. The Lord’s plans are always the best, as we look back at how He guided us in our walk. We are truly blessed to be a part of an amazing group of believers.
