Get to Know God
Whether you’re trying to get back on track or you have recently become a Christian, you’re in the right place. As with any new journey, you’re probably wondering what you should do next. Here are some ways to jump in and start growing.
Repent, Believe, Love, & Obey
Realize that you are a sinner.
No matter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a good person. That is because we are all sinners. The Bible says, "No one is good-not even one." We cannot become who we are supposed to be without Jesus Christ.
Recognize that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.
The Bible tells us that "God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." This is the Good News: God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.
Repent of your sin.
The Bible tells us, "Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away." The word repent means to change our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him.
Receive Jesus Christ into your life.
Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church. It is inviting Christ Himself to take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in." If you desire to have a relationship with Christ, simply and sincerely ask Him.
A Simple Prayer.
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen."
Connect with God
Be Baptized.
When someone gives their heart to Jesus, the very next thing that God asks them to do is to get baptized.
Read the Bible.
The Bible is the clearest way God communicates with you. You can study the Bible individually each day or with other believers. We encourage you to study alongside of us during our weekly services.
Pray.
Prayer is simply talking to God. He loves hearing from you. If you need prayer, pastors and prayer counselors are available after each service. You may also submit your prayer request online.
Connect with People
Come.
When you become a Christian, you become a child of God and part of an amazing family. The purpose of connecting with other believers is to find your place in God’s family! Other believers will provide support and encouragement and love.
Connect with Outreach
Tell Someone.
You’ve received an amazing gift from God, and you’re in a unique position to share it with others and give them a chance to know Him too.
Volunteer/Serve.
One of the best ways to build relationships and feel like you’re part of God’s family is to serve. At CCA, we have a variety of opportunities and ministry teams that are always looking for enthusiastic, passionate people to be part of their team.
