Marriage Ministry

Welcome!

We are pleased to serve Christ in the Marriage Ministry at Calvary Chapel Alpharetta!  We have been married for over 40 years and continue our life service to Christ and in extension, to this body of believers and seekers at CCA!

Marvena has been blessed to be raised in a Bible believing Christ focused family.  She was born in Lompoc, California and was raised in Kentucky.  She surrendered to Christ and accepted the gift of salvation when she was 10 years old and followed in obedience with believers’ water baptism.   Her life journey led her to attend the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD where she met and later married Bob.

Bob was born in Fort Worth, TX and was raised in a Navy Family.  In his life he has traveled to over 25 countries and moved 34 times.  He was led to Christ by a Bible teacher at Hawaii Baptist Academy in 1970.  Like many others, he was living without the support of fellow believers, but sought to learn about Christ where he could.  His life got back on track when God brought Marvena into his life in 1978.  He rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized and launched into a journey of service.

Marvena and Bob were married in 1979.  Bob was commissioned as a Marine Corps officer and began serving in churches as a teacher and discipleship leader.  Marvena uses her spiritual gifts of administration and encouragement in joint ministry with Bob.  God has blessed us with two children in strong Christian marriages and with nine grandchildren.  We look forward to salvation for each of our grandchildren.

Together we have served in local churches across the U.S. and for a short season in Japan.  God has given us a heart for service to Christian marriages and personal discipleship.
