The Greatest Gift: Expectation or Hope

"You've heard the adage: "The best gifts come in small packages." This saying conveys the idea that small packages often contain valuable items and that size doesn't indicate quality. But I also understand this to mean that the most precious gifts can take a form which we do not expect. The same is true of gifts given to us by our Heavenly Father: the greatest gifts come in unanticipated and, often, unattractive packages. Even so, of this we can be sure, every gift, regardless of its appearance, is an expression of His love, intended to draw us into intimate fellowship."
